JOURDAIN ENDORSED BY
HOLYOKE POLICE OFFICER UNIONS

Holyoke City Councilor At Large Kevin Jourdain announced today that his campaign for reelection has been officially endorsed by Holyoke's two police officer unions.

Holyoke Police Patrolman's Union (Local #388) and Supervisor's Union (Local #409) (International Brotherhood of Police Officers) issued a joint statement endorsing Jourdain's candidacy, thanking Jourdain for his support of Holyoke's police officers. "You have been a strong advocate for public safety for many years and we look forward to working with you in the future," the groups said.
"I am humbled and gratified to have earned the support of these men and women who work so hard to keep us safe every day," Jourdain said. "We owe our police officers our full support and appreciation for all they do, for their service and their sacrifice. I want our police (and all other first responders) to know that I have their back, and I always will."

Jourdain has made public safety a centerpiece of his campaign for re-election, saying that keeping Holyoke safe and affordable are his two biggest priorities. He is proud to have been the deciding vote to implement a "shot spotter" network downtown and to have secured grant funding to double the size of the network recently. "This technology is saving lives by helping the police more easily and more accurately identify potential trouble spots," Jourdain said. Jourdain also has been a vocal supporter of community policing and for more funding of police and fire department budgets.
